Lori Maly Obituary

Lori Ann Polanowski Maly, of Woodridge, born October 3, 1962, died April 7, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Klaput Polanowski. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Joseph J. Maly, her beloved two sons, Anthony and Nicholas; her father, Walter Polanowski; numerous cousins; and the entire Sabre Hockey family. Lori was a graduate of Morton East High School, and was the longtime registrar for the Sabre Hockey organization. She was President and founder of the Southwest Spring Hockey League. She earned the respect, admiration and gratitude of a generation of hockey families for her service and dedication to the young skaters and families of Sabre Hockey. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme in May, 2008, Lori's courageous fight against a cancer without a cure was an inspiration to all. Visitation will be held at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St. in Downers Grove on Sunday April 11, 2010 from 3-9pm. Prayers will be held at Hallowell & James at 9:15am, Monday, April 12, followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc, 820 Division St., Lisle, IL, at 10am. Catholic burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to THE LORI A. MALY TRUST, c/o Susan S.
