Lorraine A. Kirkland, née Zetek, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21. Beloved wife of the late W. George Kirkland. Loving mother of Curt (Karen) Kirkland and Dave (Sharon) Kirkland. Cherished grandmother of Molly and Andrew Kirkland. Dear sister of the late George Zetek.
Lorraine was a proud, 65-year resident of Downers Grove. A graduate of Morton East High School, she began her career as an assistant to the president of the Gas Company and later worked as a receptionist in medical offices and as a salesperson in the jewelry department. She had a deep appreciation for antiques, cherished her church community, and valued the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and her beloved dogs. Lorraine and her husband, George, shared countless joyful hours touring the Midwest in their antique cars. In her later years, she became a Wii bowling champion and an accomplished pinochle player at her retirement community.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, at Lombard Gospel Chapel, 369 N. Stewart Ave., Lombard, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lombard Gospel Chapel are appreciated.
