Born: April 22, 1926
Died: March 8, 2026
June Howe Judd of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Green Lake, WI, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on March 8, 2026.
Born on April 22, 1926, to Carl and Virginia (Reid) Howe of Oak Park, IL, June spent her early childhood with her parents and her brother, Reid, on their parents' farm in Cheboygan, MI.
Later, the family moved to Oak Park, IL. It was in Oak Park at a church supper that she met her future husband, Robert "Bob" C. Judd. On October 18, 1947, they were married at Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park, IL.
Early in their marriage they moved to Glen Ellyn, IL, where they raised 5 children.
One of her favorite places was beautiful Green Lake, WI, which June visited often with her family when she was young. When Bob and June were engaged and married, they would continue to spend time there. In 1972 they purchased Dering Lodge. It, and later, a cottage in the Green Lake Conference Center, became a place for family and friends to gather for June and Bob's wonderful hospitality for more than 46 years.
June welcomed everyone she met into her life. She was adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of her grandsons described her as strong and classy. Her love and gentle humor will be greatly missed.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years, Robert; her brother, Reid Howe and his wife, Edie; and her son-in-law, Gerrit Faber. She is survived by her children Critchell (Karen) Judd, Carlie (Gene) Hamilton, Ginnie Judd (Gerrit Faber), Tom (Margaret) Judd, and Amy (Ron) Polcyn. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for June will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn, IL at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
