June Ellen Sharrock McGraw passed peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the age of 96, after an 8-year-long struggle with dementia.
She grew up in Patton, MO, married Tobe McGraw in 1947, raised her children in Pekin, IL, then served as church secretary of Pekin Bible Church before coming to the Chicago suburbs where she worked for The Evangelical Alliance Mission and was an instrumental member of Harrison Street Bible Church for many years. She was loving, silly, and resilient and loved as "Grandma June" or "Mama June" by those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Homer Loy "Tobe" McGraw, her parents Noah "Noak" and Lona Jane (nee Fulton) Sharrock, three of her brothers: Noah Harold "Bud" Sharrock, Dewel Sharrock, and Sammie Sharrock, and her son-in-law Tim Phillips. She is survived by her two daughters Sheila (Tim) Phillips and Bonnie McGraw, her brother Don Sharrock, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Sheila, Bonnie, and family,
So sorry to hear about Mrs. McGraw's passing but rejoicing at her homegoing to her savior Jesus Christ. I have some very fond memories of her and Tobe. I met them when I went camping with the Phillips family back in 1983. Tobe, June, and Bonnie were there too. We had a great time, and it's a happy memory from my early teen years. I got to know her better when she started attending Harrison Street Bible Church. She was a charming person and I look forward to the day when we'll all meet again.
