Steven Allen Martin, age 64, of St. Charles, IL passed away at his home May 19, 2014. He was born to Allen John and Audrey Fox Martin in Dayton, OH on February 10, 1950.
Steve attended Fairmont West High School in Kettering, OH, was a graduate of Princeton University and attained an MBA from Wharton Business School. He had a successful business career in the United States and Asia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Audrey. Steve is survived by his loving wife Vevia, daughter Samantha and her husband Dustin, brother David and his wife Ana along with their children Derek and Keith.
A memorial celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 23 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. for the family to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bartlett Nature Center at James "Pate" Philip State Park, 2054 West Stearns Road, Bartlett, Illinois 60103.

My older brother supplied the beer. Steve and I supplied the antics, going to the pond to drink or showing up at a class play a little, well, tipsy. High School was so much more fun with him around. Despite my age now, and memory lapses, some memories never die and my memories of Steve are like that.

Steve was my high school running buddy. He was my basketball buddy. I looked up to Steve and we shared so many things at Fairmont West High School in Kettering, Ohio. We were in the class plays together. We weeped over lost loves. We listened to the BeeGees and Wilson Pickett together. I so wish I could have spent time in these golden touched years with Steve.
