Stanley Schultz Obituary

Stanley Sterling Schultz was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 26, 1921, and passed on May 19, 2012, in Tigard Oregon. He was an all-state, all-star football player at Soldan high school-St. Louis, and received a full ride scholarship to the University of Missouri- St. Louis. When WWII broke out, he enlisted in the Marine Corp. officer training program which transferred him to Purdue University-West Lafayette, Indiana, Where he also played football. He became a Marine Lieutenant. Most of his adult life was spent living in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he owned and operated Village Stationers in downtown Glen Ellyn for 17 years. He retired at 58. He aspired in many things such as, antique clock repair, wood working, and jewelry making. He is survived by his wife, Wedgie Schultz, his two daughters, Laurie Schultz Knytych, and Tracy Schultz Gergi, and his grandson Clinton Stegman. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Schultz and his wife used to come into Barone's Restaurant, where I was a waitress many years ago. He was a very sweet man; one of those customers we always looked forward to seeing, especially when he was sharing a good story. I am sorry for your loss.
