the phone rings, it's not for me
there's a piano sitting alone in the dark
spend my last night of summer, smoking in the park
the morning comes, but doesn't come callin'
this better not be a fable, the sky is falling
i had struck out some tracks
played some music, told my mom to relax
here comes the cancer,
as it slowly attacks..
there's a piano sitting alone in the dark somewhere
the day's lost, fuzzy, full of static
the tv just stares, it stares so cinematic
the phone rings, it's never for me
there's a piano sitting alone somwhere in the dark
spend my last night of summer, lighting matches for a goddamn spark
pace across the seperate keys unable to play
i'm broken unable to find words to say
i had struck out some tracks
played some tunes, told my mom to relax
there's tears on the windshield,
as the cancer attacks
there's a piano sitting alone in the dark somewhere
with love,
m.g.m.
