Bob, I am very sad and still cannot believe you are gone. I wanted to say in regards to Santa Claus that Christmas Eve way back when you pointed out to me that he wasn't Santa, he limped and walked and talked like our nieighbor next door, OK I forgive you. I love you and will miss you forever. Love your cousin Susie .

Bobby, was one of the finest young man I ever had the pleasure of coaching. I was the Head Basketball Coach and Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach at Culver-Stockton College, in Canton, MO in the late 1960's. Bobby was a great athlete and an outstanding leader. He was a man's man in the truest since. I feel honored to have had an opportunity to know this young man and to have been his coach. He and his sidekick George Vokac were great buddies and taught me the famous game of "softball" Cicero style. God Bless you Bobby, your memory and legacy will live on. Coach T

I have been thinking about Bobby lately. I was going to sit my butt down and check back in. Been too long! First time I saw him, he was scoring 5 touchdowns against our undefeated high school team. I said, "who the hell is that little guy?" Two years later he was my baseball teammate and became on of best friends. We drank schnapps together, laughed a lot, and even cried about life. Bobby was just, plain good. He was like an eagle scout, honest and dependable, and I like to think that I corrupted him a bit. They don't make many people like Bobby! I sure wish that I see him on the other side. Johnny

I have been thinking about Bobby lately. I was going to sit my butt down and check in with him. Been too long! Watched him score 5 touchdowns, to defeat our high school. I thought, "who the hell is that little guy?' Two years later he was my baseball teammate at college, and the best friend I could have. We had great times together, drank schnapps, laughed, even cried. He was as good as an Eagle Scout, and I think that hanging around with me, corrupted him a little. He made me a better person, for being my friend. I am so sorry, and I hope I will find him on the other side. Johnny W.

When I was a freshman at Morton West Coach Vashinko would play basketball with us after school and dropped each one of us off at home afterwards to make sure we got home safely.
I ended up caoching for a lot of years and being a positive influence on young men mainly because of never forgetting what Coach did for us and his influence on me.

It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest in peace Bobby.

Jan and I send our deepest sympathy to the Vashinko family. I have fond memories of times spent together, both as teammates and as opponents. One of my many memories is when I coached Bobby in the Cicero-Berwyn Junior All Star game. Although Cicero lost the game, Bobby was voted the most valuable player, which showed what a true competitor he was.I will really miss seeing him and talking with him about our past shared experiences.
