Robert Bratschun Obituary

Robert C. Bratschun, a Villa Park resident for 50 years, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2012, after many years of illness. Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Betty and their four children, son John (Denise) of Batavia, IL, daugthers, Janet Schaudt (Peter) and Susan (Tony) Mucerino, both of Villa Park and son, James (Maria) of Sugar Grove; seven grandchildren, Elaine, Elliott Schaudt, Tony, Katie Mucerino, Patrick, Joseph and Jaclyn Bratschun; one brother, William Bratschun (Betty) of LaGrange, IL and three nephews, Neal, Alan and Thomas; along with many other family and good friends. Robert was a 1948 graduate of Morton H.S., Cicero, IL and the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering in 1956 after serving in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. Robert also earned his M.S. degree in Engineering at IIT after his marriage to his wife Betty. Before retiring in 1994, he was an employee of Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Robert was an avid book reader who took much Pride in his loving and always caring and connected family. He and his wife Betty enjoyed traveling and also spending many Winters in Clearwater, Florida prior to his death. He will be missed by all who knew him as a real "warrior" with never a complaint about his own health or welfare. A real "pillar" and "keystone" to all of his family and an inspiration to many who knew him. A memorial service for Robert is being held on Saturday, July 28th, 10:45a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 545 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
