Robert Brackmann Obituary

Robert F. Brackmann, 77, of Lac du Flambeau, WI, formerly of St. Charles and Glen Ellyn, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI, surrounded by his family and close friends. Robert was born July 5, 1932 in Lombard to Edward and Ella Brackmann. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty years, Janice nee Frega whom he married March 27, 1954. They lived in St. Augustine, FL for the first two years during Bob's service in the U.S. Navy. Upon completing his service, Bob and Jan returned to Glen Ellyn to raise their family. Bob was a long time grain farmer until his retirement in 1997. Prior to retirement they lived in St. Charles. In 2004 Bob and Jan moved to Northern Wisconsin. Bob enjoyed working, relaxing, fishing and snowmobiling at their home in Northern Wisconsin. He served as trail boss for the Northern Hornshoe Snowmobile Club. Nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time watching his family and friends enjoy the lake in beautiful Northern Wisconsin. Bob and Jan have vacationed in La du Flambeau since 1962. He is also survived by their four children, Robert (Nancy), Jeffrey (Joan), Cathy (Michael) Nancy (Tim), 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, his sisters Evelyn, Loraine and Luella. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edward, William and Richard. Services will be held Friday, September 25, 2009 9:30am until time of funeral service 1pm at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn.
