Robert Badalewski Obituary

Robert F. Badalewski Robert Frank Badalewski, age 53, of Paw Paw, Plano, and Downers Grove, Illinois entered eternal life, Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born in Berwyn, Illinois on December 13, 1959, son of the late Frank J. and Gloria V. Badalewski Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Susan Wolnski, Barbara Badalewski, Karen (Kurt) Jungkans, Kathleen (Charles) Leone, Patricia (Linas) Bildusas, brother, Joseph (Sherry) Badalewski, eight nephews, three nieces, seven great-nephews, five great-nieces, two aunts, numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Gloria, and niece Kristen Jungkans. Growing up on Lemont Road in Downers Grove, Robert attended Downers Grove South High School. Dating back to 1995, he was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Downers Grove Lodge #1535 . "Locks of Love" was an organization close to Robert 's heart. He would grow his hair long, have it cut, and donate it to "Locks of Love." Robert was employed by the United States Lisle Post Office, and as a chef at Paw Paw Manor. While cooking at the Manor, he would chat with the residents and provide them with tasty meals and great conversation. To know Robert was to know his love, smile, laugh, hugs, huge heart, selfless giving, and phenomenal cooking skills! His family and friends considered him, their personal "Pastry Chef." Robert 's famous Polish Kolachkie, desserts of all kinds, and "Grandma 's Bread" were just a few of everyone 's favorites. As the "Grill Master," no matter the weather, Robert would be found standing over the barbeque creating the perfect burger, steak, or rack of ribs. Robert loved people and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a Cub Fan and true outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing, in Illinois or Wisconsin. Robert cared for many people during his lifetime. He was always ready to lend a hand and would give you the shirt off of his back. Most extraordinary, was the assistance he gave to his mother and father during their "Golden Years." His genuine love and care for them was remarkable. Known as "Uncle Robert," he had many others who admired and loved him as well. Robert was one of the best friends a person could have and will be terribly missed. A memorial service for Robert will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Plano Christian Church, 9 Schomer Lane, Plano, Il 60545.

Robert was one of the kindest, most caring and generous persons that I have been blessed to have in my life. He has been a big part of my family since we were children. He has watched over many people and I am sure he will continue only with a better view now. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to Roberts's family and all that loved him. I grew up just across the field east of the Badalewski family and think of them every time I pass by their old place on Lemont Road. Many fond memories back in the day. Robert always reminded me of Paul McCartney, I remember him always being so joyful and always so very nice to my family and me. Love and Hugs to the Badalewski family. On behalf of my entire family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Sandy Nuellen
