Gloria Badalewski Obituary
Gloria Virginia (Smith) Badalewski, 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada, previously of Plano, Illinois, Downers Grove, Illinois, and Berwyn, Illinois entered eternal life, Thursday, April 5, 2012. She was born August 10, 1932, daughter of the late Buford and Virginia (Davis) Smith. A dedicated and loving wife, mother of seven, grandmother of twelve, and great-grandmother of seven, Gloria will be missed by all. In her youth, she worked at the Berwyn Karmelkorn store, where she met her husband, Frank J. Badalewski Jr., and was united in marriage at St. Odilo's Catholic Church in Berwyn, Illinois on September 23, 1950. Gloria was an active wife and mother, always the line dancer and photographer at every family occasion or event. In 1953, Gloria and Frank moved into their home on Lemont Rd. in Downers Grove, Illinois. Gloria is the last of the original pioneers of "Budville" to enter eternity. Budville was a little bit of heaven on earth for the Badalewski, Piotrowski and Scigouski families. Gloria was a long time member of Divine Savior Parish in Downers Grove. Upon moving to Plano, in 1999, Frank and Gloria became members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In 1991, at the age of 59, Gloria retired from Lions International in Oakbrook, Illinois, after 17 years of dedicated service. Gloria received many commendations for her outstanding work in the Awards Department. She is survived by her seven children: Susan Wolnski, Barbara Badalewski, Karen (Kurt) Jungkans, Kathleen (Charles) Leone, Robert Badalewski, Joseph (Sherry) Badalewski, and Patricia (Linas) Bildusas; eleven grandchildren, Kevin (Stacy) Jungkans, Kyle Jungkans, Mark Jalowiec, Charles Jr. and Vincent Leone, Jeremy Bildusas, Lina (Scott) Reed, Christian, Chandra, Kyleen, Joshua Badalewski; and seven great-grandchildren Kaleb, Kamden, Kollin and Kassidy Jungkans, Isaac and Nathan Reed, Kaiden Badalewski, and Alexis Badalewski-Clontz; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Smith and Mary Smith as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Frank; two brothers, William and Robert Smith; one granddaughter, Kristen Jungkans; father and mother in-law Frank and Margaret (Moravec) Badalewski; sister and brother in-law Margaret and Stanley Scigouski; sister and brother in-law Marian and Chester Piotrowski; and one sister-in-law Ginny Smith. A Mass of Resurrection for Gloria will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano, Illinois, on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church 901 N.
