Richard Troyke Obituary

Richard T. Troyke, 76, of Bloomington, formerly of Lombard, IL, died at his home on June 21, 2008 from complications of leukemia. Born, January 15, 1932, he was the son of Albert and Gertrude (Fabri) Troyke. He was the second youngest of eight siblings. Richard was a Korean War veteran who was proud to have served his country. He and his wife moved to Keowee Key, South Carolina in 1989 upon his retirement from Commonwealth Edison. They then moved to Bloomington in 1994. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lombard, IL, Faith Lutheran Church in Bloomington and Sherbrooke Place Homeowner's Association in Bloomington. Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene (Stelter) Troyke, daughters, Jane Suhr and her husband Buck of Bloomington, Bonnie Fitch of Lombard, IL, and Linda Smith and her husband John of Glen Ellyn, IL. He is also survived by grandchildren Errek Suhr and his wife Rebekah of Bloomington, Mike and Joe Fitch of Lombard, IL, Adam, A.J. and Abby Smith of Glen Ellyn, IL. Services will be 10:30am Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Lawrence Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be 3-7pm Tuesday at the Allen Funeral Home, with a private graveside service and burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, the Leukemia Society or to Hospice of Bloomington Hospital in care of Allen Funeral Home.
