Richard Tintera Obituary

Richard J. Tintera

Richard J. Tintera, age 91, beloved husband of the late Myrtle L. "Babe" Tintera; loving father of Ronald (Elaine) Tintera, Lynn (Mark) Agresta, Keith (the late Kathy) Tintera and Cory (Steve Wilcox) Tintera; cherished grandfather of Carl Walk, Donald (Lori) Walk, Christina (Donato) Diorio, Jacob, Jillian and Rachel Tintera; great-grandfather of Courtney, Calandra, Taylor, Prometheus, Andromeda, and Rhea; dear brother of Grace Koukol and the late Jerry (Ceil) Tintera; dear brother-in-law of Grace Dobravec, Florence Nicholson, Lorraine Scott and Jackie Muska; fond uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Richard was a gentle, loving, religious man. If the phrase, "never spoke a bad word of any man" ever applied, it was our father. He was a simple man, who was put on earth with a simple mission; to work for his family. A jack of all trades and Chicago sports fan. He was known in the neighborhood, for his constant joyful whistling, which could be heard for blocks, while he worked around his home. He enjoyed spinning LP's, which later became cassettes, and finally morphed to CD's, but no matter the changes in the technology, on constant was, he sang with all of them with his beautiful bass tones. After his wife Babe passed away he took up her hobby of following contests. After serving in the Army, he began a long career as a Dairyman, employed by Kraml Dairy for 47 years. Dedicated husband, Father and friend, he will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to make his acquaintance.

Visitation was Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, Downers Grove and the Funeral was Monday, January 26, at St. Joseph Church. Interment Assumption Cemetery.

My Dear Uncle,
What wonderful memories you have given us. Birthday parties when we were so young. Summer days at the lake in Antioch. Always there to make us laugh. I will remember your gentle kind spirit. You will be missed as you join our loved ones who wait to greet you. God has his arms wide open. My thoughts and prayers go to my cousins and their families.
