Otto August Osterland, proud father of Deborah (John) D'Alessandro, Steven (Cindy) Osterland and Robert (Kirstie) Osterland, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024. He was born in Naperville, IL in 1934 to August and Rose Osterland. He enjoyed swimming in the quarry and ice skating on the DuPage River. He made many friends during his rewarding career with Amoco Oil located in downtown Chicago. He then went on to volunteer at the Brookfield Zoo, Morton Arboretum, and Edward Hospital in Naperville. Otto participated in many of his children's activities and was proud of the accomplishments they achieved. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards with his family and friends. After Eleanore's passing in 2003, Otto married Carol Lehmann and moved back to Naperville. He was a special "Pops" to Diane (Don) and David (Deb). Barbro and I send our sympathy to our cousins, Deborah (John), Steve (Cindy) and Robert (Kirstie) and their families as well as the other members of the family. We had missed hearing from Otto for many years and within the past few years, we again gained contact with him and we enjoyed our occasional chats with him. He was an important part of our lives for many years. We are sorry that we will not, due to age and distance be able to join you on June 10 or ll.
