Marilyn Cunat Obituary

Marilyn Cunat
Born: October 6, 1934
Died: February 8, 2025
Marilyn Cunat, 90, (nee Hosek) passed away on February 8th, 2025. She was born in Berwyn, Illinois on October 6th, 1934 to the late James and Mae (Hucek) Hosek. She had one brother, James (predeceased). She graduated from Morton East High School and also from Northern Illinois University. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Cunat and the loving mother to Laura, Rhonda (predeceased), and Todd (Lisa) and grandmother to David and Michael. Her husband, Ron, who she was married to for 68 years was the love of her life and her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She dedicated her life to education, family and service to others. She taught social studies at Lisle High School where she inspired countless students with her passion for history and learning. She was recognized with an award for being a top ten teacher. She also volunteered as a tutor teaching English as a second language and volunteered to read for the blind at the College of DuPage. Beyond volunteering, her career, and her family, she had a deep love for reading and also for traveling. She explored the United States and the Czech Republic, honoring her heritage. A woman of faith, Marilyn lived a life of compassion, generosity, and grace. Her kindness and devotion to others reflected the Christian values that she held dear. We find comfort in knowing that she is now welcomed into God's embrace. Services will be private with family members only.
