Born: November 27, 1928; in Chicago, IL

Died: July 26, 2017; in Yorkville, IL

Loretta Ann Gebraski, age 88, from Naperville, IL formerly of LaGrange and Downers Grove, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Hillside Rehab and Nursing Home in Yorkville, IL.

She was born on November 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Frederick and Josephine (Zverina) Harder.

Loretta was united in marriage on May 15, 1948 in Cicero, IL to Mr. Joseph Lawrence Gebraski and they spent the next 63 happy years together until his passing on January 16, 2012. Mrs. Gebraski attended St. Francis Catholic Church in LaGrange, IL for over 30 years and was a Girl Scout Leader at the St. Francis's grade school. She graduated from North Park College Academy in Chicago, IL. Loretta attended Illinois Wesleyan College in Bloomington, IL where she joined and later became a lifetime member of the Signa Alpha Iota (SAI) music sorority in which she developed lifelong friendships. She retired from Illinois Vision Service Plan in Oak Brook, IL. While living in Naperville, she became an active member of the Naperville Garden Club. Loretta instilled in her children her love of plants, especially hostas and the importance of beauty in your home both inside and outside. Loretta was an accomplished pianist who brought her love of classical music and theater into her home and to her family by attending many concerts, operas and musicals with her children. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Judy) Gebraski of Chicago, IL, JoAnne (Gerald) Poturalski of South Holland, IL, Susan Gosnell of Racine, WI, David (Margo) Gebraski of Naperville, IL, Mary Ann (Thomas) Romano of Plano, IL, and Richard (Monica) Gebraski of Hickory Hills, IL; her grandchildren, Kevin and Peter Gebraski, Jennifer and Michael (fianc , Jasmine Carrasquillo) Poturalski, William (Lexi Carver) Belbeck, Jeffrey and Joshua Gebraski, Amber (Nick) Davis, Sara (Rich) Duffy, Domenica, Rocco, and Luke Romano; her great-grandchildren, Josephine, Jackson and Juliette Davis, Audrianna and Jocelyn Belbeck, Nyelli Poturalski and Braxton and Joseph Duffy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Josephine Harder; her husband, Joseph Gebraski; her two brothers and their wives, George (Adeline) Harder and Gilbert (Lauretta) Harder.

A Funeral Service was held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street in Yorkville, IL, Pastor Stan Motley officiated. Interment followed in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

Friends visited from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
