Joseph Gebraski Obituary

Joseph Lawrence Gebraski, age 94, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Downers Grove and LaGrange, IL, passed away at his home on Monday, January 16, 2012. He was born on February 6, 1917 in Downers Grove, IL, the son of Walter and Frances (Budzik) Gieborowski. Joe was united in marriage on May 15, 1948, in Cicero, IL, to the former Loretta Ann Harder, and they spent the next 63 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Mr. Gebraski was a member of both St. Mary of Gostyn in Downers Grove, IL and St. Francis Xavier Parish in LaGrange, IL. Joe was formerly employed by Western Electric and retired from General Time. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Ann Gebraski of Naperville, IL; his children, Lawrence (Judy) Gebraski of Chicago, IL, JoAnne (Gerald) Poturalski of South Holland, IL, Susan Gosnell of Racine, WI, David (Margo) Gebraski of Naperville, IL, Mary Ann (Thomas) Romano of Plano, IL, and Richard (Monica) Gebraski of Hickory Hills, IL; his grandchildren, Kevin and Peter Gebraski, Jennifer and Michael Poturalski, William (Lexis Carver) Belbeck, Jeffrey (Samanta) and Joshua Gebraski, Amber (Nick) Davis, and Sara (Rich Duffy), Domenica, Rocco, and Luke Romano; his great-grandchildren, Josephine and Jackson Davis, Audrianna Belbeck, and Braxton Duffy; as well as his sister-in-law, Lauretta Harder of Seminole, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frances Gieborowski; and his sister, Pearl Gieborowski. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Mary of Gostyn, 445 Prairie, Downers Grove, IL. Interment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL.
