Karen Robinson Obituary

Died: Sept. 7, 2014; in Winfield, IL
Karen (Van Saun) Robinson, age 69, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.
She was born November 19, 1944, in Connersville, Indiana, to the late Harold and Maxine Van Saun. They moved to Norwalk,Ohio in 1953.
She is a graduate of Norwalk High School, Kent State University, and taught first grade for ten years in Euclid, Ohio. Teaching was her first love.
She, and husband, Ron, moved to Glen Ellyn in 1976, where she owned the Persian Lamb on Main Street, Glen Ellyn, managed a Crown Books in Wheaton, and was buyer and department manager for Michael's Crafts in Carol Stream, until she retired. Karen loved crafts of all kinds, was very skilled, and enjoyed designing and making her own creations. She loved all animals, 'words' and reading, old movies, and history.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald P. Robinson; brother, Mark Van Saun of Phoenix, Arizona; one niece, Kaley Van Saun; and six cousins, Linda V. Schmerse, Ginny V. Sherman, Barbara V. Cuddeback, Lori M. Hess, Erin M. Smith and Dick Van Saun.
A graveside service took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk, on September 11, 2014.

I remember Karen as a person who showed great kindness and gentleness to other people. My sympathy goes out to you, Ron, and to Mark. Karen was Martha Stewart before Martha Stewart was Martha. She had style and grace and elegance. We loved her and hope that she knew that. The last few years have been hard for all of us, especially for Karen. Now she is at peace. All our worries for her are over. Now we have to concentrate on her devoted husband Ron. We hope that he will now have the opportunity to do some of the things he has not been able to do due to Karen's illness. We will keep Karen alive in our hearts.
