Karen had a special way of drawing light and love into everything she touched. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to meet her and participate in a few art programs she facilitated. She inspired me and others to explore the creative in a deeply personal way. With kindness, talent and leadership she nurtured me and many others to embrace our connection to Spirit. With gratitude, and love and prayers of comfort to all of her family and friends - shine on Karen, you are the embodiment of God's love. Thank you for generously sharing it with us. You will be missed, but remembered with fondness. To her family, I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Ken and family,
Karen was such a wonderful person. We had such a wonderful friendship and great memories thru Family Shelter Services and helping her build the facility here in DG
We are praying for you and your family

I met Karen in high school. My impression of her as a teen was that she was remarkably balanced, always good natured, open, and confident. She was delightful to be with. Today I´ll add to that list; she was also brave and compassionate. She will be missed.
I send my condolences to Ken, Carolyn, Evan and all of her family.

Karen was a great leader and mentor to many at Family Shelter Service. Her compassion, care and passion were ever present each day as she inspired me and my coworkers there. She was a wonderful light in the world and it will be a little dimmer now that she had moved on.
