John Larson Obituary

I had the distinct pleasure to work for THE IDES OF MARCH from 2006 to 2009. It was during that time that I got to know John Larson. Not only was John awesome on the stage, but he was even more awesome off the stage. John was a gentleman to everyone. His sense of humor was incredible. He always made me laugh and smile. John's place on the stage will always be missed and never replaced. My condolences to Patsy, John's family and THE IDES family. May John and his DISTANT TRUMPET rest in peace. Thanks John for the music and memories. I will never forget you.

John, Christmas this year will be will not be the same. From the first time I heard you play "A Distant Trumpet" its haunting sound is burned in my mind. May you rest in peace. May God give Patsy the strength and knowledge in knowing that she and all the rest of us shall meet again. Maybe you can teach Gabriel some new tunes!!

We were blessed to be able to hear John play great trumpet. The Ides of March will forever have a void although we'll forever be able to hear his trumpet through recorded music. Didn't know John personally, but knew him well through his music.His family will have many cherished memories just by playing his music, as we all will.

John was a great musician, but an even greater person, the world is diminished by his loss, but our loss is heaven's gain.

John's passing leaves a void that can never be filled..His witty personality and fun- loving demeanor will be missed.
