United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal 1960 1966. Graduated Pattern Makers' Association of Chicago 1962. International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers 50 year veteran. Owner of "Jack's Remodeling" 1973 - 1982, Scoutmaster Boy Scout Troop 57 1981 1987. Beloved father of John W. Knopf, wife Carol; Matthew L. Knopf, wife Mary Beth; Maria L. Knopf; Sarah E. Kralicek, husband Joel - the children of Charlotte L. Knopf (former spouse). Survived by his brothers and sisters, Joanne L. Knopf, William A. Knopf, Betty J. Mackin, and Jim F. Knopf. Loving companion of Nancy Knuepfer. Dear friend to many. Loved to play cards, travel, cook, watch romantic movies, and drink a good Manhattan. True "Jack of All Trades" carpenter, electrician, plumber, master fix-it-all. Always ready with a smile to share, joke to tell, and a helping hand to lend!
