Ginger Zeman Obituary

Ginger Lynn Zeman
Born: February 8, 1954 in Berwyn, IL
Died: September 12, 2024 in Lake Villa, IL
Ginger Lynn Zeman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70 years old.
The youngest daughter of the late Eugene and Gladys Kreml, Ginger is survived by her devoted husband, Don; her children, Emily (Seth), Luke (Cara), and Sally (Nelson); and her six cherished grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryan, Jessa, Alina, Cash and Jett. She will also be remembered by her extended family and her incredible group of friends.
Born and raised in the Riverside area, Ginger was a proud graduate of Riverside-Brookfield High School, Class of 1972. She went on to attend the University of Iowa, where she was a dedicated member of the Chi Omega Sorority Chapter.
Ginger was a hardworking and passionate businesswoman. She owned and operated Rite-Way Cement for 37 years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. In addition to her business endeavors, Ginger made a lasting impact on her community by serving over 15 years with the LaGrange Park District before retiring in 2020.
Above all, Ginger's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her love, warmth, and kindness were felt by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
A celebration of Ginger's life will be held on October 5, 2024, at the Riverside Golf Club, 2520 Des Plaines Ave, North Riverside, IL 60546, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and honor her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
Rest in peace, Ginger. Your love, strength, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

Zeman family I was sad to read this in today's paper. One hundred years ago I met a group of people from Riverside at the Village Pub. Hutchinson twins, Lee West, Mark Novak, Mo Mullarkey, Chinck, Don Hjetmanek, dozens more . and Ginger and Don. I doubt anyone remembers me but I remember Ginger. A lovely girl taken way too young. Ginger was a wonderful neighbor on Spring Avenue. She will be missed by many and we are all diminished by this loss. Her beautiful grandchildren assure her legacy. My sympathies to Don and the children and the grandchildren.

I am 5 years younger than Ginger, she is my cousin, we reconnected via FB years ago and would message each other about family updates and share pictures etc. Loved her smile , and messages, and I bet she was the glue that bonded her family. Prayers to her family and friends. I will miss her messages.

I was 12 years old when my sister was born so she was 8 years old when I graduated high school. I must admit I don´t remember much about her as a child. My first real memory was when she was a junior bridesmaid at our wedding. She was 12 years old at that time.
She was the Homecoming Queen in high school and in a few beauty pageants. She was a beautiful woman inside and out.
Ginger was the one who kept us all informed about the family. She was in touch with Uncle Chuck and Aunt Norma, Rich and Patty as well as the Kreml aunts, uncles, and cousins. Over the years she touched the lives of so many with her kindness, humor, infectious smile, and her unwavering positive attitude towards life. She will be greatly missed.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. Ginger was my younger cousin and we would play together at the Lake house or her home whenever my folks took me there. Wonderful memories!

My first memory of Ginger is meeting her at the "Lauth Family Reunion", at Lake Marie, Antioch, Il.
She was holding her first baby, Emily, and I was absolutely smitten with both of them!
I was new to the Lauth family, and she welcomed me with such kindness and absolute sweetness.....I have never, ever forgotten that day.
She will be terribly missed by Billy Lauth and myself.

Ginger was always a warm friendly person, fun doesn't do her justice, her wit and caring was always on point. I pray for each and everyone of her family, the loss is almost too great to appreciate. The world got a little colder with her leaving. We were at Bill's house last week and looked at her house and wept.
