Gerald Eminger Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Frank Eminger
Died: July 26, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald "Jerry" Frank Eminger on July 26, 2025, just 20 days after the love of his life, Jeanne Eminger. Their 57 years of marriage were a testament to loyalty, partnership, and enduring love.
Jerry was born and raised in Westmont, Illinois. He attended Holy Trinity Grade School, St. Procopius Academy in Lisle, IL, and graduated from St. Procopius College. He briefly attended dental school; however, Jerry ultimately followed his true calling in mechanical engineering. Known for his analytical mind and meticulous attention to detail, he built a long and successful career at the Baby Bells, eventually retiring from Lucent Technologies in Dallas, Texas, in 1997.
Retirement didn't slow him down, Jerry and Jeanne returned to Illinois to launch Summerset Home Maintenance, a remodeling business that paired Jerry's skilled craftsmanship with Jeanne's eye for design and organization. They enjoyed the work so much they eventually undertook the ambitious project of building a home for themselves. Together, they made a formidable team, whether renovating kitchens or navigating life side by side.
Jerry had two daughters, Tricia Eminger and Kimberlee (James) Paul, and was the kind of father who showed up quietly, consistently and with great care. He was a man of his word, had a listening ear and always gave the best advice and guidance. He taught his daughters and grandchildren the importance of integrity, kindness and served as a constant example that any job worth doing is worth doing well.
A lifelong music lover, Jerry played in a band in his younger years and gave guitar lessons on the side. He enjoyed fishing trips, target shooting and the satisfaction of a well-kept home and yard. He cherished a good cup of coffee with good company, family movie marathon nights, and the "dad joke of the day" tradition with his grandkids. His weekly calls with his brother Bob were sacred time.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Tricia and Kimberlee; grandchildren Kaylin Eminger, Tyler Keepers, and Zoey Keepers; step-granddaughter Emily (Tim) Gutknecht; and his brother Robert (Sue) Eminger. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanne and his parents, Frank and Mary (Kasher) Eminger.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Jerry and Jeanne are together again, just as they always were.
A private remembrance will be held by the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
