Elmer Hansman Obituary

Elmer Jack Hansman, of LaGrange Park and LaGrange, passed away. Beloved husband of the late Louise Howson Kurfess and the late Janet Burdick Hansman; loving father of Curt Hansman, Taylor (Tom Gleitsman) Jaeger, Mary Hansman (Arthur) Barrows and Sarah Hansman; devoted grandfather of Meghan Snyder, Ryan (Mike Bartholome) Jaeger, Ashley Jaeger, Richard Jaeger III, Janet (Chris) Hartenstein, Susan Barrows (Ben) Zhang, Elizabeth Barrows and dear uncle of Char (Leland) Snyder. Memorial Service 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 in Dole Hall at Plymouth Place, 315 N. LaGrange Rd., LaGrange Park, IL 60526. Private interment at Riverside Cemetery, Saugatuck, MI. Mr. Hansman was a retired salesman for General Electric (lamp division). He loved sailing, flying and his cottage in Saugatuck, MI. He was a longstanding member and former Commodore of the Saugatuck Yacht Club and past President of The Lakeshore Chapel in Douglas, MI. He was a decorated U.S. Navy Pilot in the south Pacific during WWII. He was instrumental in raising funds for the building of the first clubhouse at Saugatuck Yacht Club. Special thanks to family friend Stan Dembouski, the staff at Plymouth Place and St. Thomas Hospice.
