Elinor Rose Anthony, nee Walmsley, 92 of Tomahawk, WI passed away August 21, 2023 at the Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital. Elinor was born August 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Edward James and Etta "Betty" (Boyer) Walmsley.
She lived a few years near the Cubs Ball Park and then Edgewater neighborhood near the lake until she married.
Elinor married Clyde "Tony" Anthony November 1, 1953. They had two sons, Allen and Steve.
They lived in Chicago, then a couple of years in South Dakota, then back to Chicago, then to Westmont, Illinois for about 47 years until October 22, 2015. Elinor, Tony and son, Steven moved to Tomahawk to be near Allen who lived here for years. They loved Tomahawk and had visited Al for years.
Elinor loved her family, friends and all activities alone and with Tony and she did Volunteer work over the years, never bored, always busy. Tony, loving husband of 67 years preceded Elinor in death on April 25, 2021.
She is survived by her sons, Allen and Steve, Tomahawk; brother, Jim (Sandy) Walmsley; nieces, Deanna and Brenda, Arizona; grandson, Todd (Jenny) Anthony; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Garrett, North Carolina.
Honoring Elinor's wishes, no services will be held.
