STERLING - Diane M Militell, age 84, (formerly Plainfield, Elmhurst & Syracuse NY) resident of Sterling died Monday November 17, 2025 at Shepherd Premier Sterling.
Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Mel Militell; Loving mother of Tracy Militell (Dave); Leanne (Dave) Mueller and John Militell; Proud Nana of Vance, Dylan, Gianna, Alexander, Glenn Jr.(Melissa); Loving sister of Gary (the late Judy) Wallace; "was preceded in death by:" her father William Wallace & mother Dorothy Korzin, brother Mark (Linda) Ghebelian, sister Lisa Ghebelian and granddaughter Jordyn Mueller; Diane was born and raised in Syracuse NY, moved to Illinois when she was 17 where she met the love of her life Mel, raised a family together, enjoyed cooking, entertaining, crafts, was an avid book reader and enjoyed a "good glass of wine" with her husband after dinner every night.
Diane loved and adored her husband Mel, their nicknames for each other were; pooch(Mel) and hun(Diane) and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. A celebration of life is being planned, for Sunday, December 28th, 2025 from 2:00 PM– 4:00 PM at the Greenbrook Clubhouse, 749 Cove Ct., Bartlett, IL 60103.
