Please accept our sincere condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Havener family . I enjoyed coaching Dewey in football for his enthusiasm and loyalty. We had fun. Recently I talked to him - he was so proud of his family. Respectfully, John and Judy Mowery

Family 2009

Dewey or Uncle Dewey as he is remembered by his brother-in-law, Robert Polis, sister-in-law, Bonnie Polis and two nieces Amy and Holly Polis will always be remembered for his generosity, kind-heartedness and dedication to his family. We will miss visiting Uncle Dewey when we visit Sanibel every June. Amy and Holly remember Dewey as a fun and caring Uncle who sincerely took a great interest in their lives. Bonnie and Bob will always remember his love of golf, but especially fishing and Bob cherishes his fond memories of being picked up on the shore by our condo on Sanibel by Dewey in his boat and treated to a fun day of fishing for many summers. Bonnie and Bob are honored that they were chosen to be Katie's godparents by Mary and Dewey and promise to continue to play an active role in her life as he wanted. Bonnie remembers him coming home after Katie would spend a few days at our "Sanibel house" and would say when she came through the door, "Where's my little girl? Come here for hug."
We regret not being able to come down for the service in Florida but Mary and Katie as well as Kirk, Lisa and Gavin and all the members of Dewey's family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We feel extremely honored to have been able to spend quality time with Mary, Dewey, and Katie every June. We have precious memories and pictures that will help us remember those great times. Holly still has her "hot dog" inflatable raft that Uncle Dewey gave her many years ago and that she used for many summers in Florida and wouldn't share it because she said her Uncle Dewey gave it to her and nobody else.
Rest in peace Dewey. Rest assured that Mary and Katie will be well looked after by our family. We will miss you dearly. We will remember you always but Bob and I agree that sunsets on Sanibel will have a little extra beauty in them now.
Mary and Katie, we are thinking about you now and want you to know that we are here anytime you need us. We love you,
Bonnie, Bob, Amy and Holly Polis
