Claudia Hanson Obituary

Claudia Ann (Dorothy "Honey") Honeyman Hanson, 79, passed away peacefully in her son's home in Grain Valley, MO Saturday evening March 22, 2008. She was born in Cicero, IL on March 18, 1929, the oldest of the eleven children of Claude Charles and Alice Ann (Pouzar) Honeyman. Claudia and her family moved to the Fox Valley area where she attended school, graduated from St. Charles High School in 1947, lived, worked, married, and raised her family. Claudia led a busy and active life that included her family, friends, plants and gardening, frog gigging, flea marketing, and treasure hunting. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Alice; daughter Rhonda L. Dierschow; brothers Richard J. Honeyman and Roger B. Honeyman; and sister Charlene T. (Honeyman) Nietupski. She is survived by her children Richard L. (Helene Schommer) Hanson, Susan F. (James) Winquist, Robert C. (Sarah) Hanson: son-in-law Dean Dierschow; grandchildren Brooke (Junjian) Tang, Brandi Winquist, Brittany (John Miller) Winquist, Christian (Gale) Dierschow, James (Amanda) Winquist, Jared (Joy) Winquist, Joshua Winquist, Brian (Jessica) Hanson, Steven Hanson, Kelsey Hanson, Kali Hanson, Albert Hanson, Dakota LaPee, Austin Phillips, Savannah Snyder; and great grandchildren Noah Tang, Austin Winquist, Jeremy Tang, Kilyn Winquist, Ashton Winquist, Brody Hanson, Addison Dierschow; Brothers, Dale (Nancy) Honeyman, Ronald (Donna) Honeyman, Gary Honeyman; and her sisters Sharon (Patrick) Davern, Bonita Honeyman, Donna Honeyman, and Diane Honeyman. Visitation will be held Monday, March 31, 2008 from 3-8pm at Norris-Walen Funeral Home (Ronald T. Segert-Director), 132 Fremont Street, West Chicago, IL. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 9:15 at the funeral home and proceed to Little Home Church by the Wayside, 32W128 Army Trail Road, Wayne, IL for a 10 am service. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Geneva. Memorial contributions can be made to the Northwest DuPage Walk-In Ministry Food Pantry 163 Garden, West Chicago, IL 60185.
