What a sweetheart Claudia was! As a sales manager in the Childrens and Macy Woman department until October 2008, I worked with her regularly in both departments. No matter what I asker her to do, she would smile and I knew I could consider it done as I listened to her hum and get the project done quickly and efficiently. My heart goes out to her family and friends- Rest In Peace, Claudia.

I went to high school with the Dibbern girls and knew Claudia's younger sister Del. I remember Claudia as smart and nice. I was saddened to hear of your loss. I lost my sister quite unexpectedly in 2004 due to complications after her first chemo for breast cancer. I know something of the pain and loss of a loved one. My condolences and prayers go out to you and your family.

I was shocked to hear of Claudia's passing. My heart goes out to her parents, JoAnne and Don. I have known her family for years. I went to Highschool with Claudia and she was always a bright and cheerful girl. I would run into her around Darien every so often over the years and she was always happy and gracious. She will be missed.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Claudia's passing. I first met Claudia in 1967 when we were freshman at Hinsdale South. She was always smiling and sweet. We saw each other off and on after high school both of us remained in the area and it seems we were always running into each other. I saw her at every election time the last being this past November. She will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Dibbern who would update me on Claudia when I waited on her Dad at Osco.
You're in my thoughts and prayers.

We read of Claudia's passing in the Doings and were truly shocked- what a tragic/strange thing to have happen! We did not know her really well- but she always seemed so upbeat, cheerful and engaged with people. I'll always remember her (admirable) presence too at the polling place doing her civic duties on so many election days. We need a lot more people like that! Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of you in her family and we hope that you can find comfort in the many great memories we're sure that you have of her.

Claudia and I had been friends since 1978. I have such wonderful memories of her over the years from our lunch group to my retirement pizza party. We corresponded throughout the years for many occasions and holidays. She inspired me about so many facets in life. I admired her professional ethics, her humor, wit, love for people and life itself. She inspired me to be a better individual for family, friends and job positions. I believe all of us were her soul mates. When you came to know Claudia, you wanted to be a part of her life because of the very unique and one of a kind friendship she gave to you. She made each friend feel the most unique and special to her, making you a special soul mate. I grew up with dogs in my childhood. Two and a half years ago, my husband Gary and I adopted two male cats. We can not imagine life without our boys. Claudia, again, help inspire my love for cats. We would look forward to her cards, family cat photos, etc. I would look forward to purchasing cat cards to send Claudia throughout the years. My husband would look for special ones for her, too. I will miss the privilege of sending her those cat cards to make her smile. But, I will still be able to read them at a store, thinking about her and smiling. I just know that "Claud" will be looking down on me or Gary, sharing our thoughts and smiling with us. She planted her love and friendship in each of us, so that we can continue to share her forever. I will continue to love her forever. Our prayers and loving support are with her parents, sister, brother-in -law, cherished friend Peter, remaining family and friends. We thank you Claudia for being a very special person in our lives so that we may strive to enjoy life more and to be better people to everyone we know. Be at peace now with your brother and know Claudia that you had a very special mission in your life for all of us. Penny and Gary Mayer

I am truly saddened to hear of Claudia's passing. I saw her just last week and I thought to myself "Every time I see Claudia, she's always smiling and in a good mood." And that put me in a good mood for the day as well!
I have never once, while working with Claudia, heard a negative thing come from her. She always had a positive attitude in everything she did or said and never once complained. I will miss her radiant smile and warm presence here at Macy's. She will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family.

I met Claudia while she was going to Eastern IL University in the mid 70's. She was a room mate of my good friend Marsha Honn. We all shared many good times and laughs.Claudia always kept in touch with us over the last 30 years, and updated us on her travels with pictures. I did not get a card from her this year, and on Friday I heard the news of her accident on the radio. I am so sorry that I got my card to her too late and she never got to read it. I will have a void in my future and she will be missed by so many people. If only everyone could be as bright and cheery as she was. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to the entire family

I'm very sad to hear this news. Claudia was one of the first people I worked with at Marshall Fields in better sportswear. She was always willing to help with a smile or a little tune. She always had a positive outlook no matter how busy we were. As i moved to different areas i would see Claudia and she always stopped to see how I was. She will always make me remember to be bright and positive. Claudia will be greatly missed and my prayers go to the family and loved ones.

Working with Claudia in New Traditions at Marshall Field's/Macy's was a hoot. She was thee most hard-working and dedicated employee they ever had. After I retired 4 1/2 years ago, Claudia still made sure a group of us got together once a month for breakfast at Emmy's to keep in touch. She was one of the most thoughtful, generous, caring, funny and upbeat person I have ever met. I will truly miss her.

I have not worked with Claudia for over 10 years but she still was bringing a smile to my face with her yearly updates around Xmas on how many days we had till Xmas. When we worked together, we were always counting down the days till the Xmas rush was over. I will truly miss my yearly updates from Claudia.
