Cindy Brown Obituary

CINDY L. BROWN went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 19, 2008 after a two year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Cindy was a delightful, beautiful and wonderful wife, daughter, sister and friend. Her genuine smile, sweet disposition and interest in relationships made many who knew her think they were her "best" friend. Cindy was born on December 1, 1971 in Hagerstown, Maryland to Dora May and William Peck. She lived much of her life in Friendswood, Texas. She graduated from Friendswood High School in 1990. She earned bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Houston, Clear Lake in 1994 and 2001 respectively. She was married on September 24, 2005 to Christopher Brown. Cindy is survived by her husband and her mother, her brother-in-law and sister Scott and Amy Smith of Conroe, Texas and their son, her nephew, William Smith. Cindy worked at several companies in her career, most recently at Protiviti and Service Corporation International in Houston, Texas. She also was an real estate agent for Mark Speets Properties. She was a member of the Junior League of Houston and enjoyed serving at Sheltering Arms Senior Services and the Salvation Army. Cindy attended Second Baptist Church of Houston and was a member of Houston's First Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in several capacities through her churches as well. Friends and family are invited to her funeral on Thursday, October 23rd at 3:00 p.m. At SouthPark Funeral Home (1310 North Main St., Pearland, TX 77581, 281-485-2711). I went to school and graduated from Friendswood with Cindy. I haven't seen Cindy in a while but I can still see her beautiful smile as if it was yesterday. She was truly a great person with a warm and welcoming heart. The memories I have of spending time with Cindy I will cherish forever.

Cindy,
Thank you for always making my husband and I feel so special when we first started our dance lessons at the studio about 7 years ago. You always gave us words of encouragement even when we know we couldn't get our steps quite right. We know your favorite dance was the swing dance !! You were the one that got us started learning that dance and we are still enjoying it. We remember the precious moments at your wedding how you danced the conga line with all your friends -- how happy you were that special day when you married Chris. Now heaven has a dancing angel watching over us -- keep on dancing Cindy! We will miss you.

To the Brown and Peck Families,

My prayers of strength and encouragement go out to you at this time. Scripture says "absent from the body is present with the Lord". I worked with Cindy at SCI and found her to be a pleasant person. I thank the Lord for her life here but especially that she will be spending eternity with Him. Look forward to seeing that smiling face again. Until then, we should all take comfort that she is in a better place.

Cindy, you showed me how to enjoy each moment, not get too serious and take nothing and no one for granted. In your honor I will continue to live this way, praising God for allowing us to be friends in this short life. I love you and look forward to seeing you again - for eternity.
To Chris, Dora, Amy - as we grieve deeply, we can only fathom how much moreso you grieve. We share your tears, but also your joy in knowing Cindy's with her dad and the Lord, and it's only a short time 'til we're reunited.

I will always remember our times together, back in our single days, you getting married in a hurricane and supporting me as I prepared for marriage. Your strength and example of how to live has truly impacted me forever. I will miss you dearly but know I will see you again. (I'll put in an order for the house next to Linda and we can all worship together all the time!)
Thank you Chris for letting me say good-bye last week. We are praying for you, Dora and Amy.

Oh Cindy,
My beautiful, sweet friend. How I miss you!!
Thank you for being a wonderful friend to me! Always so supportive - even in my crazy adventures, encouraging me in everything I did, pushing me to be better person, helping me deepen my faith and teaching me how to love and give, just as you did.
I am forever changed for the better for knowing you.
I cherish our times together, especially this last year at Tues night bible study, I loved those evenings with you! And our summer together of condo hunting, you were the best realtor ever! I couldn't have done it without you.
I can't wait for the day to see you in heaven, I hope my mansion is next door to you.
I love you forever my friend!
