Died: Oct. 5, 2015; in South Bend, IN

Charles A. Zulas, age 83, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Monday October 5, 2015 in South Bend Hospice House.

Charles was born on January 31, 1932, in Chicago, to the late George and Lillian (Krejci) Zulas. Charles was married to Jere (Wolfe) on September 8, 1951, in Downers Grove, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jill (Robert) Tyler of South Bend, IN, William (Ann) Zulas of Clearwater, FL, Mark (Ruth) Zulas of Crystal Lake, IL, Paul Zulas, of South Bend, IN; and 10 grandchildren.

Charles was also preceded in death by 1 sister, Helen Zulas; and 2 brothers, Eli and James Zulas.

Chuck proudly served his country in Korea with the United States Army in the 1st Calvary 5th Regiment as a Supply Sergeant. Chuck loved the Chicago Cubs dearly and saw them play in the World Series in 1945. He was also a Chicago Bears fan. He was a faithful servant of the Lutheran Church from the time he was a young boy and was a member of Hilltop Lutheran Church in South Bend. Charles and Jere recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in September.

Chuck enjoyed a long career as a salesman. He loved history, gardening, nature, and his family.

Visitation for Chuck will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
