Charles Louis Hughes, age 75, resident of West Chicago and formerly of Lombard and Warrenville, passed away March 8 at his residence. Born October 27, 1932 in Wheaton, IL. Navy Veteran. Owner as of 1969 of C. Hughes & Son Plumbing and Heating of Batavia. Graduate of Wheaton Community High School in 1950. Active member of Northern Illinois Home Builders Association. Served 22 years in the Local #507 Plumber's and Pipefitter's Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. Passionate for Indy 500 NASCAR races. Survived by his wife, Nancy J. nee Brabec; and his children, Julie (Rob) Carpenter of River Forest, Scott (Tamara) of St. Charles, Marcia (Ken) Freeman of Sycamore and Cindy (Dwight) Medo of Sycamore; Loving Grandfather of Charlie and Harry Carpenter, Jessica, Jason and Alyssa Freeman, Aaron and William Medo; Great-grandfather of Olivia and Landon; brother of Dorothy Wood, Helen (Paul) Schatz and Ronald (Marjorie) Hughes and brother-in-law of Tom Brabec; Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, March 12, 12pm to 9pm at the Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd., 3S532 Batavia Rd., Warrenville. Memorial service Thursday, 11am at the Plumber's Local 501 Union Hall, 1295 Butterfield Rd., Aurora.
