Carol Lynn Hendrich (nee Spataro)
Age 68 of Downers Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, after a courageous 17 plus year battle with breast cancer. She was born December 25th, 1956, in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Betty (Flournoy) Spataro; Stepfather Bob Epstein; Husband Don Hendrich; Uncle Dick Geyer, Uncle Fred Dillner; and Grammie Katharine Cottrell.
Carol's Life was filled with a variety of people, places, and activities. She owned her own business in the beauty industry, which spilled over into her own personal life. Carol was a beautiful woman inside and out. With her vivacious smile and quick, quiet sense of humor, Carol was always the bright light when she entered the room. She was happiness when she was surrounded by the people she loved.
She loved traveling, shopping, gardening, entertaining, dancing the night away, sipping on lemon drop Martinis or a smooth glass of cabernet. She was known for her fashion sense and beautifully decorated home. No matter what the holiday.
Carol will always be remembered as a champion, never looking back, always looking forward to the positive, with that vivacious smile and vibrant personality.
Carol is survived by her loving companion Mark Luetkemeyer, Sister Kathy, Brother-in-law Ed Forst, and Sister Judy Callans. Carol had five nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Laura) Forst, Laura Forst husband James Mahoney, Lana (Steve) Bretz, Carly Callans, Griffin Callans, Stepmother Patrica Spataro, Aunt Jan Geyer, Aunt Rose Dillner, Brent James Woldman (like a son).
Carol was blessed with numerous family and friends.
Carol's pride and joy were her beloved mischievous cats, Sadie and Dallas.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9th, 10:30 at Christ the Servant Church Woodridge, 8700 Havens Dr.
Celebration of life luncheon will follow thereafter at: Carriage Green Country Club, 8709 Carriage Green Dr., Darien, Illinois.
