Dear Lisa and Rachel: Today I found myself thinking about all the Baruchs, from our time in Elmhurst, way back in the '60s and '70s, and on a whim I did an online search for Barbara, whom I remember with fondness and admiration. I was, of course, deeply saddened to find this obituary and learn of your loss, and am sending my deep sympathy and hugs to you all.

Although I did not work directly with Barb at District 15, I do know that she was very highly thought of by her colleagues - always the professional and very caring towards her students. My condolences to her family.

Barb had an enormous empathy and talent to help the children she served. She was the "go-to on the staff" person in our school. She expressed this magic way of giving by word and deed. We were blessed to learn with her. Thank you, Barbara!

I have to thank Barb for allowing me to be a part of her life and enriching mine. Her thoughtful kindness in always enquiring about my family back home was much appreciated. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
