Lisa Virbickis

August 26, 2010

My name is Lisa Felder-Virbickis and I am Marilyn Engstrom's younger daughter. I met Art approximately 30 years ago when I was a teenager in high school. We met at a very pivotal time in both of our lives. I was estranged from my biological father and Art was still grieving the loss of his beautiful daughter. We had an instant connection. He became a surrogate father to me, and he reciprocated my feelings by treating and loving me like a daughter. Over the years, we grew to develop a very strong bond. He would come to the house and visit or we would go out for coffee and we would sit and talk for hours. He gave me so much comfort and so many words of wisdom, and we each filled a void in each other's lives. Unfortunately, after I got married and moved out of my mother's home, we did not get to spend as much time together as we used to, but we did continue to talk on the phone or he would send me messages through my mom telling me how much he loved me and that he would always be there for me no matter what. Thankfully I did get one last chance to speak with Art again recently when he was visiting my mom in Arkansas. Even though it had been quite some time since we had talked, it was as though not a day had passed and we still had that bond. I looked up to him like a father and he provided me with so much love and support through the years. I will always hold a special place for him in my heart and I will NEVER forget him and all the great times we spent together. I feel so grateful and blessed to have had him in my life, and although I am thankful that he is at peace and no longer in pain, I will miss him more that words can possibly express. I would like to extend my most heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends, and anyone else who was as lucky as I was to have known him and be loved by him. God bless you Art; I love you.

Art was my Stepfather and will be missed dearly. We have known each other for nearly 40 years and hard to believe he is no longer with us. Art was truly a unique and a one of kind person with a loving heart. You will always be in our memories and never forget the years we shared together.
Knowing Art, he already has a new Harley in heaven and is on the greatest ride of his life!
Rest in Peace

We have known Art for almost 30 years through good times and sad times. Art could be counted on to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on. He was a dear and close friend who will missed more than any words caneer express.

Dennis DeLano

August 25, 2010

My name is Dennis DeLano; I worked with Art at American Guardian Warranty Services. I will be unable to attend the services, but wanted the family to know that I shared with Art a love of Clint Eastwood westerns and a taste for circus peanuts. He so loved the poster I had at work of Clint Eastwood as Josie Wales that I gave the poster to him. He always mentioned it to me when he saw that movie play on late night TV. And I knew he could not turn down an occasional circus peanut, even though he knew it wasn't good for him. I always tried to keep some on hand for when Art needed a pick me up. I will miss him a great deal - He was a dear friend over the time we knew each other. Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences on your loss.
