Anselmo G. "Willie" Navarrete, 72 years old, born in Ashfork, AZ on April 21, 1935 to Bruno and Ramona Navarrete They moved to Stockton, CA in 1938. Willie married his childhood sweetheart, Virginia, in 1959. Together they raised 2 daughters, Monica and Lisa. Willie retired from the City of Stockton Public Works Department after 29 years. Willie was an avid reader, loved to cook and enjoyed tinkering around the house. Willie is survived by his life long love and wife Virginia, daughters, Monica Speers (Jim), Lisa Smith (Albert) both of Stockton, and his six grandchildren: Allissa, Brian, Erica, Alex, Meghann, and Mary Elizabeth. Willie is also survived by his mother, Ramona Navarrete, his siblings, Refugio Navarrete, Clotilde Macias, Clara Villalpando, and Bruno Navarrete; all of Stockton. He is preceded in death by his father, Bruno Navarrete, and his brother,
Andrew Navarrete.
A Rosary will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 6:00 pm at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. A memorial mass will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter St., on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 10:00 am. Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday August 6, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton.
