Andrew Schaidler Obituary

Andrew Davis "Dave" Schaidler, age 76, resident of the Stone Creek Cove Community and husband of the late Carol Jean Lecture Schaidler, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born October 30, 1934, in Lock Haven, PA, he was a son of the late Andrew Lawrence Schaidler and Edith Elmira Davis Schaidler. Mr. Schaidler served in the United States Army from 1957 - 1959 in Germany. His career included serving as a Logistics Manager for both Johns-Manville Corp. in Chicago, IL, and 48 Insulation Company in Aurora, IL, as well as serving in Customer Service for Kinko's, Inc. Among Mr. Schaidler's passions, he particularly enjoyed raising roses, stamp collecting, all types of photography, reading science fiction, and playing chess and poker. Mr. Schaidler was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his children: a son, Andrew Walter Schaidler and partner, Brian Buchberger of Wauwatosa, WI; a daughter, Constance Carol FitzHenry and husband, Dan FitzHenry of Glen Ellyn, IL; and a brother, John Arthur Schaidler and wife, Carol Ann Schaidler of Menasha, WI. The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday, May 2, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by Brother Henry Fulmer, OFM. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 5pm until 7pm on Sunday, May 1, 2011, as well as from 10am until 10:45am on Monday, May 2, 2011. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Petronille Catholic Church, 420 Glenwood Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
