Wilma Woodall Obituary


Decatur

Wilma Lorine Woodall, 79, of Decatur died July 2, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born Feb. 8, 1929, Wilma was one of seven children and the only daughter of Madgie and Gurley Johnson. A lifelong Morgan County resident, she greatly enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, aunt, homemaker and neighbor, taking care of family and friends from her 50-year home on Cagle Avenue.
A longtime member of Decatur Baptist Church, Wilma's Christian faith, kindness and generous love will always be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 34 years, Robert L. Woodall; and five brothers, Billy, Cleo, Elmer, Floyd and Bud Johnson.
Wilma is survived by two devoted sons, Billy Woodall of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ronald Woodall and wife, Rhonda, of Decatur; granddaughter, Marisa Woodall; grandson, Jackson Stricklin; and brother, Hollis Johnson of Decatur. She is also survived by a loving circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends that will continue to be enriched by her spirit and memory.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 5, 2008, from 10 a.m. until noon at Shelton Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Bro. Larry Culp and Bro. Benny Sivley officiating. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or to your place of worship.
