Beloved husband of Sandra, nee Wegner; loving father of Victoria (Jay) Maxwell and Beckett Richards; proud Grandfather of Wyatt, Finn, and Sutton; and dear brother of Claire and Carolyn (David), fond brother-in-law of David (Deborah). Preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Mary Frances Richards. Devoted Uncle to Joe (Courtney), Michael (Heather), Ryan (Ashley), Matt (Sunday), Luke (Faith), Jill (Kevin), and Sarah (Jeff). Born in Weatherford, Texas Bill stayed connected with friends and family with his monthly visits. Sandy,

Lucie and I are stunned and saddened by Bill's sudden passing. We are so deeply sorry for this immeasurable blow to you, the family, and to your and Bill's legions of devoted friends.

Bill's great intelligence and deep wisdom were leavened with extraordinary self-deprecation and a rapier wit. He took his vocation and avocations seriously. Uncompromising integrity was his calling card and honesty his signature.

Yet, Bill never took himself too seriously. Which is one of the many reasons why he was such a joy to work with on Union League Club projects and on the International COVID-19 Memorial Monument Commission. I always looked forward to our calls and meetings for I have never laughed so hard or so often with someone while simultaneously completing so much important work. He made everything fun.

Lucie and I deeply regret not having met Bill sooner, for then we would have an even greater treasury of memories to help distract us from the grief gripping us today.

You and Bill will remain in our fervent prayers.

Peace to you.
