William Polich Obituary

William J. Polich
Born: April 30, 1935
Died: September 14, 2021
William J. Polich, 86, a lifelong resident of Lyons, IL passed away at his home on 9/14/2021.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 4300 S. Oak Park Avenue in Stickney Illinois 60402 on 9/24/2021 at 10 am.
Bill was born on April 30th, 1935 to William C. Polich and Stella (Drzal). Bill is survived by his wife Shirley, his five children Shelly (Kent Davis), Laura, Bryan, Eddie (Denise), Natalie (Robert Luce), and his seven grandchildren (Nick Polich, Ben and Matt Davis, William and Devin Polich, and Mae and Brielle Luce).
Bill lived his life to the fullest. He loved God, he loved his wife, and he adored his children and grandchildren. He and Shirley recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
He was an Army Veteran, a retired school teacher, a Lyons Mustang, and longtime member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America (formerly of Lyons Lodge 228, and currently active in the Hrvatska Sloboda Lodge 32). Bill served his community as Lyons Village Clerk for several terms. He was a world traveler, a South Padre Island Winter Texan, an excellent bowler, an avid golf enthusiast, a beloved father, and a cherished grandfather.
Bill was kind and always gave freely to others. We will miss him and his sound advice. We will always remember his love of life and family, and precious memories of him will live on with us forever. Love is eternal.
