As a grandfather, he was important to me as much as anyone else in my family. A great father, grandfather, and person to remember.

It's sad how fast life has us movng - so much, that we lose contact with so many people in our lives - Bill was a very nice guy - we joked around quite a bit over the 25 years I knew him on the hobby side of life - it was a bummer for me when he left Trost Modelcraft but great for modelers when he landed at Revell/Monogram - I am so saddened today for your loss and sorry to find out about his passing three months later in a model newsletter - be well

Bill was a great guy. I met him through the Revell/Monogram displays at the RCHTA trade shows in Chicago, over twenty years ago. I always looked forward to seeing him, he seemed to value my opinions about the hobby. Chicago won't be the same without him.

Bill Lastovich worked in the hobby industry almost his entire life. During his career he touched many lives. I've known him almost forty years, and over that time, I've never heard an angry word from another person regarding Bill; quite the opposite in fact. Usually I heard praise and always respect. That is exceptional. He had character few of us will ever approach. Like most of us who knew him well, he had quite a collection of model cars. More importantly however, he amassed an incomparable collection of friends, all of whom will miss him deeply. Bill always was a racing fan. We wish him Godspeed.

Bill, you were a true gentleman and a very good friend. I learned so much from you, both the business side of modeling and the fun side. I was so glad to get to see you on my way home from my grandfather's funeral, and you took what precious free time you had to allow me to visit. That lessened the pain I felt at losing my grandfather some, just getting to visit with a good friend. I will miss seeing you and learning all you still had to teach anyone who asked. My sympathy goes out to your family and the multitude of friends you have.

I was fortunate enough to have met Bill a couple of times when I visited the U.S. to see my good friend James Stein. Bill was such a warm, open person and I have fond memories of the time he took me around the Monogram factory.
Also through Jim and Bill, I was made an honorary member of the Lake Michigan Model Car Club and Bill always made me welcome and introduced me to the members there.
Rest In Peace Bill, and my heart felt condolences to your family and friends.

For many years, Bill was one of the key players at Revell-Monogram in terms of new products. He was a modeler himself, a past president of model car clubs, and someone who genuinely cared about the scale model hobby and about the people in it. Bill's kind and timely assistance to me many times provided important details I was able to share in my "Strictly Stock" column in Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine, and later in my Reviews column in Model Cars magazine. I will always appreciate, and never forget, his friendship, his warmth, his wit, his expert knowledge, and his kindness. He was a great guy in all senses of the word, and I will miss him. He will always be remembered with lovingkindness. My deepest condolences go to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, his neighbors, and everyone who called Bill a friend. I truly believe in my heart of hearts that we are all better for having known Bill in this lifetime.
Sincerely,
Larry A. Greenberg

Bill was one of the most affable, unflappable, all-around cheerful guys I've ever known. It was obvious to everyone around him that he truly loved his work. Revell/Monogram has lost a key staffer and one of the best ambassadors it's ever had. We've all lost a wonderful man and a great friend.

Although I never knew Bill, the warmth and love I felt in talking to you about him was so warm and genuine. He obviously was loved by all he touched in life and a loving and supportive Father and Husband. No one knows the pain you feel in losing him, but may you find peace and comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place, pain free, worry free, and at peace. Cherish your many memories, and I will keep him in my prayers, as I will all of you.
