Bill was that and more...to you, your family and his hundreds of friends!
His special gift was always smiling, conversing, loving and overcoming life's obstacles! We are with you all.

Wonderful memories of what a gentleman your father was Joe -- hanging out in high school in Lake Geneva, at your Grandma's place in Oak Park or your dad's office, and then in La Grange Park with the new house. He always made me feel like a welcome part of the family and took time to sit and talk It's been many years -- but I think of that time often and what a handsome, kind, smart man your dad was. May his memories and legacies live on.

I will miss your smiling face but have great memories from High School( Corsairs) Notre Dame Univ., sports, meals etc. together. You and Ginny, loving parents to your children&grandchildren-great job. Ciao for now great friend.

During my 11 year association with Fenwick High School, I had many an occasion to meet and greet Bill. His ever-present smile, kind words, and willingness to help with anything Fenwick shall never be forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to all of the Cavanagh family. Your husband/dad was a great Friar and a special member of the great class of '50. I suspect another great Friar, Ed Brennan, was there to greet him at the gates of Heaven.

I have such fond memories of playing in the house on Columbian with all those great Tonka toys. My condolences to Ann Marie, Mary Pat and Joe and all your family. -- Cathy Cavenagh Fitzpatrick

Mr. Cavanagh......my father's best friend and confidant, my Godfather, and a part of many of my best childhood memories......you will be missed by the O'Mara's. I know my father is trying to rope you into a game of bridge at this very moment! My condolences to the Cavanagh family......you'll find out over the nesxt few days how many people's lives he truly touched!

There has never been a more caring friend and neighbor than Bill. I will miss him shoveling the deck, hiding the Easter eggs, scrubbing the turkey roaster at the kitchen sink and his welcome home as I pulled into the driveway. Attending a Notre Dame game football with Bill & Ginny was a highlight of Dan's life. My love to Bill and his devoted Ginny. May God bless you.
