William Butler Obituary

William Craig Butler was born to Craig Dunn Butler and Glenna Elliot Butler in Chicago, IL on November 24, 1921 and died November 19, 2009 in Fullerton, CA. He and his three brothers Robert, John and Charles were raised in Oak Park, IL. After his service in the US Army in France and Germany he graduated from Indiana University in 1947. Bill was a Prisoner of War in Germany. He married Maryalice Malcomson in 1943 and worked primarily in the tape and adhesive industry. Bill enjoyed his many volunteer activities in community service and animal rescue work. Bill and Maryalice lived in Oak Park, IL, Glen Ellyn, IL, Darien, CT, Amherst, NH and Wheaton, IL before retiring to Fullerton, CA. He is survived by his wife, Maryalice, his daughters Laureen Jones of Brea, CA and Jean Kennerly of Dallas, TX and his sons-in-law Claude and Donald. He is also survived by his three grandsons Brian, William and James and their spouses, Kimberly, Molly and Caitlin as well as four great grandchildren Jessica, Nathaniel, Mckenzie and Alexandra. A Memorial Service will be held at the Placentia Presbyterian Church at 849 North Bradford, Placentia, CA at 2 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2009. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts to be given to The St Jude Foundation Communication Recovery Groups at PO Box 4138, Fullerton, CA, 92834 or to the Placentia Presbyterian Church at 849 North Bradford, Placentia, CA 92870.
