Wilbur Rininger Obituary

Wilbur Cody Rininger, 85, of Longview passed away on June 27, 2004. He was born on November 6, 1918 in Anaconda, Montana to Mary Ann (Tosh) and William Cody Rininger. He lived in the local area from 1950-1983 then moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He returned to the local area in January of this year. In August of 1950 he married Eileen Quigley Rininger in Spokane, Washington. She preceded him in death on May 28, 1977.

He was a Staff Sergeant Medic in WWII, serving 5 1/2 years.

Wilbur worked as a pulp digester operator at Weyerhaeuser before retiring in 1983 after 32 years.

Wilbur was a member of the V.F.W. He loved dogs, fishing and Mariners baseball.

He also had a love for gardening. Wilbur had a dry sense of humor and loved to tease. He enjoyed talking to everyone. Wilbur will be remembered for his bright, sunny smile.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Morgan of Longview and Lynda Petrich of Whidbey Island; son, Glenn Rininger of Kelso; grandson, Nathan Norton and wife, Dianah of Kelso; grandson, Michael Norton and wife, Nikki of Vancouver; grandson, Micah Petrich of Whidbey Island; four great-grandsons, Bishop Burns of

Vancouver, Charles Norton, Hunter Norton and John Mauerhof all of Longview; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Burns of Vancouver; and companion, Michael Chambers of Castle Rock.

At his request, there will be no service held. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
