Wendell Julian Obituary

Wendell Reiman Julian, 89, was called to glory on June 29, 2011. He was born on April 30, 1922 in Zion, IL to Elmer and Lucy (Reiman) Julian. Wendell, a veteran of WWII, served as a Staff Sergeant in the12th Statistical Control Unit of the 12th Army Air Corps in North Africa and Italy. Upon return, he worked for CECO Steel Co. in Cicero as an accountant. He was a founding member of Westchester Community Church. In retirement, he loved vacationing in the Northwoods of WI and attending his grandchildren's activities. He is dearly missed by his daughter, Janice (Ron Tervo) Julian of Marquette, MI and his son, Scott (Lynne Nolan) Julian of Naperville, IL; his grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, and Patrick Julian; his sister Lorraine (Dell) Nelson and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine, his son, Dennis, and sisters, Edna and Alice, and a brother, Oscar. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 at Westchester Community Church on July 11, 2011. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Westchester Community Church or The American Heart Association.
