Wayne Cowell Obituary
Wayne R. Cowell, age 94, WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Married to the love of his life, Yvonne (née Gullikson) for 67 years. Wayne considered his family his crowning joy: Loving father to Brian (Eileen), Chris (Edie), and Geoff (Janet) Cowell. Cherished grandfather to Becca (Ryan) Artner, Jessie (Joel) Feih, Katie (Eric Stoddard), Sean, Jenni, and Justin Rock. Dearest great-grandfather to Raelynn and Rylee Artner. Adoring brother to Marilyn (the late Ralph) Johnson. Fond uncle to Christine (Mark) Harr. Wayne was a mathematician, theologian, linguist, historian, genealogist, poet, editor, author, lover of the arts, retired Computer Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, and a devoted member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Visitation was held at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, on March 2nd, followed by a private family Funeral Service at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove.
