Wanda Paulson Petersen

Wanda Paulson Petersen, 86 of Hoxie, AR passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born in Strangers Home, Arkansas on January 21, 1930 to Charles Lindsey and Anna Susan Simmons Counts. She was a waitress, working for many years at Lums Restaurant in Villa Park and Aurelios in Oakbrook Terrace in Illinois. She was a member of VFW Eastern Star in Illinois, and attended the Church of Christ in Portia, Arkansas. Wanda was an avid gardener, she loved to cook her children's favorite foods and most of all she was an enthusiastic Country music fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, David L. Paulson; second husband, Gordon "Pete" Petersen; sisters, Melva Massey and Deborah Kluge.

Survivors include her sons, David L. Paulson (Sharon) of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Michael Paulson (Laurie) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; daughters, Phyllis Tribble (Ricky) of Hoxie, Terri Saccotelli (Larry) of Lombard, Illinois, Julie Kenney (William) of Delavan, Wisconsin, Susan Ehlen (Ron) of Darien, Wisconsin; brothers, Dale Counts of Alicia, Charles Gale Counts (Helen) of Tom Bean, Texas; sisters, Joy Fowler of Walnut Ridge, Lavoe Harber (Guy) of Cordova, Tennessee; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great, great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Petersen was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Her funeral followed at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home with Robert Davis officiating. Burial was at Clover Bend Cemetery in Clover Bend under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronald Mounts, David Mounts, Hunter Mounts, Danny Saccotelli, Keith Paulson and Bill Grifo. A Celebration of Life for Wanda will be held on Saturday, November 5th from 6:00 to 10:00pm in the Pine Room at White Pines Golf Club located at 500 West Jefferson Street in Bensenville, IL.
