Sorry to hear this news. I was just telling my wife last night about Dartmouth and that I had been in basic training with Walt and Avery Allen at Fort Leonard Wood in 1959. I remember sitting on the picnic tables, drinking a Champaign Velvet, and pitching the empties into the garbage cans. Yes even then Walt enjoyed a cold one.

Walt, one of the greatest guys I've ever known. We spent many hours and days trying to catch the evening's dinner to cook over a camp fire. We also strived to introduce our sons to fishing and camping and to enjoy the camaraderie that comes with experiencing the great outdoors. Also to also laugh the next morning as we hang everything we have up to dry. Some day I hope to see you up there, Walt, and we'll together give this fishing sport another try.
