Virginia Zajac Obituary

Virginia H. Zajac, age 77, a 20 year Lemont resident, and formerly a 57 year resident of Cicero passed away on January 25, 2008 from natural causes in her Lemont home. Visitation was Tues, 1/29. Mass was celebrated on Wed, 1/30, at Christ the Servant Church in Woodridge. Cremated at Oakridge Cemetery with her ashes to be buried at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, at a later date. Mrs. Zajac was the owner and operator of Hawthorne Bake Shop in Cicero. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Mother's Club and Polish National Alliance. She attended St. Mary of Czestochowa Grade School and Morton H.S., both in Cicero. Mrs. Zajac was considered an excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, of 57 years; her 3 daughters, Patti (Al) Gedminas, Kathy (Ralph) Scumaci and Susan Zajac, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, the Late Joseph (Lydia) Siemianowski, and sister, the Late Lorraine (Late Robert) Olszewski. Thank you for letting me know about Virgie's passing. She sure had a lot of enthusiasm for everything in life and imparted that to everyone she met. She was my favorite cousin and I am sure she will be missed by Joe and everyone in the family.
